She's Growing Up

There is a quote: "A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart..."

And here she is..growing up..

Sometimes you did test our patience, but most of the time you are such loveable little monster πŸ‘―

You are so brave compared to mom. You fear no heights.

You sit whenever I sit. You follow almost everything that I'm doing.

Mek Bunga... You love cats, birds & flowers.

You do some poses to camera.

Sometimes you pose STUNNing. But you forgot to take the bib off πŸ˜„

You also do pretty poses πŸ’•

Now you love drawing.

And books.

Also shower time 😍

You love all sort of bags. Handbags, paper bags also plastic bags 😏

You love food that come with the plastic wrap 😫

You always raise up your hand to affirm the answer "Who is cute girl?" πŸ˜‰

One thing that still remain slowly growing up til now... your HAIR πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘Ά When do you think is it going to grow longer baby?? LoL 😘

I wish you all the happiness in the world and hereafter. I love you for you. Please be healthy and don't forget to love your parent back πŸ’–πŸ’›πŸ’

Beading

Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hello all...

I am a self taught beader. I have a huge passion in beading however due to time consuming, it took lot of effort to do so. You know... juggling myself with office work, house work and babysitting Aafreen... they seem like too many things to do at one time... so beading work can wait...

Few days back, I wanted to spice up Aafreen's plain black kurung for this upcoming wedding event. So I took out old-kept beads to do so and I learned using trial and error. Then I got some beads on dress images and reading materials online for my own reference. So hereby I would like to share with you guys the outcome of my latest project on beading.

Since Aafreen still loves to bite here and there, also put almost everything she found into her mouth, I have decided to only focus beading on neck-round and minimal design on the kurung itself.

It took me 2 days to complete this project.

I was thinking to do some side-jobs with this beading activity. So to those who would like to place an order, do let me know (nurfarhana.mnor@gmail.com) or just leave your contact info in comment space here. I will keep in touch with you soon. The price can be negotiated since I'm only a self taught beader :-)

What you doin' mummy? :-P

Daaa...

Never too late for Eid 2016

Assalamualaikum everyone.. Sorry it took me quite some time to update this blog. Not really realizing what have been kept me too busy from writing a post. So how is your Eid celebration & holiday? Fun + great?

Talking about Eid 2016, our family had a quick one too. Z and I only applied for 2 days leave. 1 day before Eid (Tuesday) and another day after Eid (Friday). Short & sweet holiday :-P

We finished packing for balik raya at very last minute since both of us were busy in previous days. Myself didn't sleep overnight to make sure everything in place before leaving for holiday also giving a chance for Z to have a short nap before start driving our journey. We started our journey balik kampung (Terengganu) on Tuesday morning after everything in order. Z drove slow & steady. We need not to rush for anything ahead. Our main target is to arrive kampung right before buka puasa. So that, our last buka puasa will be surrounded with family members in Terengganu.

We took Karak Highway then LPT as main routes to reach Terengganu. And actually quite surprised because the traffic was so clear. Not so many cars on road & RnR. Maybe at that time, people already reached their kampung because they took advance leaves.

There were times where I incidentally slept because got some sort like headache and rasa nak demam due to staying up overnight packing stuffs. But not saying just me who incidentally slept, Z was too :-D Soooo not gooooD.. He said because the jalan was so lengang & hot sunny outside made him barely open his eyes.. Sleepyhead ~

After bout 5-6 hours drove, we finally reach Mak's house. Huhs~ We manage to buka puasa with everybody. HooRreyyY!! Last day of buka puasa in Terengganu...

The next day, only Z went to Solat Aidilfitri with others. Me & Aafreen stay at home and get dressed. I did dress Aafreen up with this turqoise baju kurung + headband. She looks very sopan like in the picture. Cewahhhh....

Aafreen and cousin, Kakak Ayraa

But not until both start sweating and playing around. Haa..I saw your pampers la Aafreen :-P Kakak Ayraa, where is your tudung?..

Aafreen is teaching Kakak Ayraa how the toys working :-D

The best full picture of ours on the 1st day of Raya. Blurrrr...

We did the routine like salam-salam everybody, give and receive duit raya with niece/nephews. Then we ate some foods on the table (nasi minyak, nasi dagang, ketupat palas, rendang daging, rendang ayam kampung etc.) and save some spaces for other foods coming in during our visit to relatives', neighbours' and friends'. We had spent 1st day Raya visiting others' houses.

On the 2nd day, we got up & prepare to go to my eldest brother's house. He did some sort like open house for families & close friends. There..more foods went down our stomachs..full full full.. Z for the first time saw a Terengganuian eating laksa with bare hand/fingers there. He was like so donotknowwhattosay after that. I'm also a Terengganuian but not too expert in coordinating my fingers chopping laksa and go straight into my mouth. Hahaha... :-D On the other hand, Aafreen seems happy playing with her cousins and friends.

Aafreen's outfit for 2nd day of Raya

Us on 2nd day of Raya

The 3rd day of Raya was the day we have been waiting for, Aafreen's 1st birthday celebration. It was July 8th, 2016, a year after I gave birth to Aafreen the cheeky princess. We woke up early for birthday cake's hunting at whichever bakery that opens in Kuala Terengganu's town. Finally, we bought delicious & quite pretty cake for Aafreen. We put on some remarks saying Happy 1st Birthday Aafreen on her cake. The guests start coming at 3.30pm. And we didn't wait too long to start cake's cutting session. Z lights up the candle for Aafreen and she was so impressed by that. She didn't even care when everybody singing a birthday song to her because was too attracted to the lighten candle :-D. The menu for the day are laksa penang + pulut kuning with rendang + desserts (kuih/ice cream/fruits/birthday cake). Some photos of Aafreen on her very 1st birthday.

If you may notice, my Mummy didn't manage to find a new pink skirt that match this romper.. Hahaha...

Happy birthday dear daughter. You have grown so much since the day I first held you swinging in my arms. Your first birthday overwhelms me and daddy. I wish you a fabulous life ahead. May you be among the blessings people and stay as true believer hereafter. Mummy & daddy love u big time. Ameen Ya Rabb...

The 4th day of Raya, we switched our plan. Instead of heading back to KL directly, we make a pit stop at Seremban to salam raya with PIL. We started our journey after lunch time and reached Seremban at night. Next day, MIL cooked 1st Raya menu again since all my siblings in law were there. The gathering was unplanned because everybody is actually celebrating Raya at in laws first then only headed back to Seremban. However this year, Alhamdulillah we manage to meet everyone in Terengganu and Seremban luckily. That is why our Raya this time be a short & sweet experience.

Something for Ramadhan 1437H

Salam Ramadhan to All,

How is your third day of fasting? So far so good? :-) Hopefully, this Ramadhan let us practice patience even more as compared to the previous ones.

Actually, I feel a bit sleepy while doing my works in front of PC. So, I let the gloomy eyes to take few minutes break by reading some of my favorite blogs and write something onto mine too. And, I stopped by reading what Vivy has posted.

Literally, I agreed with Vivy when she said that We always want GOD to give us the best, but when HE asks something of us, we turn here turn there to find “logic” in ways that suit us. But then, we would never question the good things HE gives us. Such hypocrites, us human beings.

First thought that came cross my mind it is true, we as human beings create the "logic" of our own just to please ourselves not GOD the Almighty. We would always want others inclusive GOD to make us happy but reluctant to do the same in return. How about this time around during the holy month of Ramadhan, we do vise versa, we make GOD happy with us.

Meaning that everything we intend to do or doing is referring back to how happy GOD with us. Like I wish you dear GOD to feel very delighted because I have completed my 5-times Solah everyday in this Ramadhan and will preserving doing so later. I hope GOD is very happy because I went to the mosque more frequent to do Taraweh and donate portion of my gaji to orphans and the needy. God must be smiling because I manage to control myself from telling lies and talk unnecessarily during this holy month.

The ultimate reason of doing these is simple, to make GOD happy with us. Who might know that by doing these, we can achieve tranquility. GOD is very merciful and always sees our intentions to improve every single day. Starts small and starts now. Stop judging ourselves or others by not capable enough in doing so. Just do it and remember to make GOD happy with us. Continue practice patience and be fully in charge of our own Nafs.

GROW OLD WITH YOU

June 1, 2016 means the hat-trick years for us as husband and wife. THANK YOU dear Mr. Z for sadness and happiness you gave for all these years. It does not matter where we are or what we have, as long as I have you by my side, I will be that strong to hold-on. THANK YOU for being you and spoiling me with your unconditional love. THANK YOU for choosing me as myself and hopefully we will be blessed hereafter together. Hope Allah s.w.t. gather us again one whole family real soon at Jannah. May you continue to be a wonderful husband to me and loveable daddy to our children. I wish you nothing but happiness, love and joy with us in the years ahead.

#throwback010613

I just caught up with this song all day long :-D Though the lyric sounds funny, but it truly making sense and easier to explain. To Mr. Z, I Love You for the sake of Allah s.w.t. May he preserved my feeling towards you. Ameen Ya Rabb...

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let you hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if when you had too much to think drink
I could be the woman man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

Beach Experience

Last labour day's holiday, we went back to Kampung at Terengganu. How we missed Kampung after few months not going back. Our main target is to bring Aafreen to the beach for second time after last visit at her age of 3 months. As far as I remembered, she was sleeping along the way during her last visit but we managed to wake her up for pictures ;-)

This was taken during her last visit to the beach

We took the road and started the journey around 10.00am on Friday morning. Yes, we applied for leaves from Friday - Wednesday for this special balik Kampung plan.

On the way KL - Kampung. She was playing as if at home :-)

First activity upon reaching Kampung was swimming with cousins in special made pool by Atuk. Seeing her swims happily made us believe that later will be cheerful moment at the beach. Perhaps~

First time experience swims in pool with cousins

On the next day, we have decided to go to the beach in the morning. We knew that in the early morning, the waves were calmer compared in the evening. With all hope, Aafreen will love beach as much as we did.

First time experience at the beach. Turned out, she was crying quite heavily whenever I put herself down on beach sand. Helpless mummy :-P

Not liking the feel of beach sand. Duduk atas mummy je la..

I think the hearsay of small babies not really enjoying moment at the beach is far beyond true :) Mummy will try again during Raya Puasa later. You will turn 1 year old dear daughter during that time. Saw the bright cutey pink swimming suit? Chosen by Z. If happen to be me alone choosing new suit for Aafreen, I would like to buy the revealing one. Baru lah sexy sikit ;-P

We were stuffed with lots of good food during days in Terengganu. We had Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kerabu, kuih, Satar, Keropok, Seafood Celup Tepung, Nasi Ayam yadaa yadaa yadaa..etc.. After spending quality time with family members in Terengganu, we head back to KL.

Stop at R&R somewhere on LPT Highway so that Aafreen can eat her lunch. This girl I tell you haa nowadays eating like main-main. It took more time for her to finish her food. Patience mummy patience...

Sleep long & well on the journey Kampung - KL

Aafreen is enjoying her time with Atuk, Nenek, Uncles, Aunties & Cousins during this recent visit. Hope to see everybody again during Raya Puasa in 2 motnhs time. Toddle~

4 Tips for Anger Management Towards Kids by Maznah Ibrahim

Just recently, I've read an article about anger management by Maznah Ibrahim. She shared 4 techniques to control our anger as a mother towards the children. In my opinion, those techniques seem very practical & do-able. I love to share with you.

Technique 1
Remember one & only thing: 'What if this child is no longer here with us afterwards?'. Does it worth to prolong our anger towards the child? Try to think logically, why are we as an adult (age 20s-30s) being so mad against wrongdoings done by the child (age 2-3 years) though we knew their level of thinking still not yet matured as us do. BE wise, THINK wise and ACT wise. We should not expect the children to do everything according to our expectation who had live this life more than 2 decades.

Technique 2
Be calm and look / stare our children's face lovingly. Think: 'What if one day our child did the same thing to us when we getting older?'. Surely, we don't want this to happen. Children's brain like a sponge, it will absorb and then imitate what an adult shown to them. Be conscious on that because we are about to develop their sub-conscious mind. According to Puan Maznah's writing, at the age of 0-2 years, 80% of human brain has been developed. And at the age of 6 years old, 90% completed. During these phases, children learning through their cognitive skills and visual display. However, they still do it irrationally. They do it just because they imitate the elder.

Technique 3
Take a deep breath, don't say anything and immediately do what suppose to be done. For example, your child poop on the floor. Instead of being a crazy woman, shouting at your child just do the chores to clean up the poop fast. Then only you talk back to your child what should be done / show him / her how to do it correctly with a proper explanation. This is one of the techniques being used by our beloved Prophet to teach (Do it right in front of children > children imitate the actions > praise the children after they do it correctly).

Technique 4
Take a deep breath > walk straight to your children > sit / squat / be in the same level with children so that you can make direct eye-contact > then say something or ask children something wise. For example, you can ask the child "What are you doing?" or "Why are you doing this?". Usually, the child will give a spontaneous answer. So based on the answer, you try to negotiate with him / her further on. Give reason, explanation and guidance in make things right.

Through my readings, I was so moved by Puan Maznah's quote "Kadangkala ibu marah pada suami yang meninggalkannya atau telah melukakan hatinya, tanpa sedar terlepas pada anak walaupun kesalahan kecil". Think deep, don't let our children be the punching bag of all our miserable problems. Not only when we had problems, even when we are tired. Please be relevant. Don't release the tiredness / frustration onto our children. This post also as a reminder to me as a first-time-mother.

You tell me, how can I turn myself to an angry bird after looking at this cheeky face :-)

Playtime

In a blink it is already Wednesday, middle of the week. Meaning that two more days to go before we saying hello to weekend. Last night, Aafreen didn't want to go to bed early... So this is what happen when she disturbed mummy folding cloths...

Can you see me??

First two teeth of me...

Nice sock isn't it? :-)

An attempt to stand up...

FYI, Aafreen is still breastfeeding (by bottle at babysitters' and direct breastfeed during night). I do admit that sometimes I've encountered hard times to stock up breast milk for her at babysitters'. Yesterday, I've decided to try another tip to enrich my breast milk by drinking dried longan + rock sugar (gula batu). For mommies out there who want to give a shot, please do so. Who might know, this tip suits you better. Good luck.
