I'm quite happy today since it will be my last day at work for this week. Our family will be going back to Kampung tomorrow morning and be back again next 5 days. Whollyyy Yeah!!! It has been quite long time since our last return.

Before leaving for tomorrow, why not I share some activities I did last week during my not-too-busy days at office. There are 2-3 days I'm not being imposed with urgent tasks. So what I did was gathering recycle stuffs in my office and build d.i.y. toys for Aafreen.

What you need for this d.i.y. colored blocks - old newspaper, colored papers, used tissue rolls, A3 size box, scissors, glue, cutter, pencil & eraser if needed

Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy right? So do it yourself !! Therefore, optimize your spare times in the office like me. Just make sure, don't kantoi with your boss otherwise she / he will be giving you tons of new workload ;-P

Before ending post, I would like to share with you what Aafreen being doing if she came to mummy's office ;-)

 Tidy-up mummy's workplace / sleep / play with herself (out-loud shouts)

Bye-bye for now. Aafreen see you when get back from Kampung :)

4 Tips for Anger Management Towards Kids by Maznah Ibrahim

Just recently, I've read an article about anger management by Maznah Ibrahim. She shared 4 techniques to control our anger as a mother towards the children. In my opinion, those techniques seem very practical & do-able. I love to share with you.

Technique 1
Remember one & only thing: 'What if this child is no longer here with us afterwards?'. Does it worth to prolong our anger towards the child? Try to think logically, why are we as an adult (age 20s-30s) being so mad against wrongdoings done by the child (age 2-3 years) though we knew their level of thinking still not yet matured as us do. BE wise, THINK wise and ACT wise. We should not expect the children to do everything according to our expectation who had live this life more than 2 decades.

Technique 2
Be calm and look / stare our children's face lovingly. Think: 'What if one day our child did the same thing to us when we getting older?'. Surely, we don't want this to happen. Children's brain like a sponge, it will absorb and then imitate what an adult shown to them. Be conscious on that because we are about to develop their sub-conscious mind. According to Puan Maznah's writing, at the age of 0-2 years, 80% of human brain has been developed. And at the age of 6 years old, 90% completed. During these phases, children learning through their cognitive skills and visual display. However, they still do it irrationally. They do it just because they imitate the elder.

Technique 3
Take a deep breath, don't say anything and immediately do what suppose to be done. For example, your child poop on the floor. Instead of being a crazy woman, shouting at your child just do the chores to clean up the poop fast. Then only you talk back to your child what should be done / show him / her how to do it correctly with a proper explanation. This is one of the techniques being used by our beloved Prophet to teach (Do it right in front of children > children imitate the actions > praise the children after they do it correctly).

Technique 4
Take a deep breath > walk straight to your children > sit / squat / be in the same level with children so that you can make direct eye-contact > then say something or ask children something wise. For example, you can ask the child "What are you doing?" or "Why are you doing this?". Usually, the child will give a spontaneous answer. So based on the answer, you try to negotiate with him / her further on. Give reason, explanation and guidance in make things right.

Through my readings, I was so moved by Puan Maznah's quote "Kadangkala ibu marah pada suami yang meninggalkannya atau telah melukakan hatinya, tanpa sedar terlepas pada anak walaupun kesalahan kecil". Think deep, don't let our children be the punching bag of all our miserable problems. Not only when we had problems, even when we are tired. Please be relevant. Don't release the tiredness / frustration onto our children. This post also as a reminder to me as a first-time-mother.

You tell me, how can I turn myself to an angry bird after looking at this cheeky face :-)

Playtime

In a blink it is already Wednesday, middle of the week. Meaning that two more days to go before we saying hello to weekend. Last night, Aafreen didn't want to go to bed early... So this is what happen when she disturbed mummy folding cloths...

Can you see me??

First two teeth of me...

Nice sock isn't it? :-)

An attempt to stand up...

FYI, Aafreen is still breastfeeding (by bottle at babysitters' and direct breastfeed during night). I do admit that sometimes I've encountered hard times to stock up breast milk for her at babysitters'. Yesterday, I've decided to try another tip to enrich my breast milk by drinking dried longan + rock sugar (gula batu). For mommies out there who want to give a shot, please do so. Who might know, this tip suits you better. Good luck.

DONGIBAB KIPIDAP

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.
It’s been 3 years ++ since my last writing on this blog. Hahaha… What a *@#$%^&~ - no words-. Now, I’m pushing myself hard to start writing back and hope it last little longer than before or maybe permanently make this corner as a lovelifediary. Dongibab kipidap!! Huhuhu…

So many bittersweet things happen in this past few years which I can’t sum it up as short one :-) Maybe from time to time, I will flash back all those stories little by little in next posts. Hopefully…

Just to update those who reading my scribbles/gibberish here, I have already being a mother of 8 months old daughter. I gave birth on July 8th, 2015 to a strong babygurl which named as Aafreen. True, it was during fasting month last year. I was adviced to deliver the baby earlier than EDD since Aafreen’s growth graph at week 37-38 seen stagnant. For your record, I was still fasting a day before, on the 7th, during my admission to the ward (proud of myself. pirrahhh haha...).

So, the doctor induced me around 6am on the 8th and my contraction starts an hour later. The pain was ongoing, from slow to harder, and the contractions keep killing me. Though in pain, I managed to finish my breakfast and lunch hehehe… After had my lunch, the doctor checked the dilation and it had opened up to 5cm. So I was pushed to the labor room. Before continue with the first push, I told doctor that actually I want to poop. So the doctor asked me to do so. I did poop on bed. Haha… What an experience…

I gave my best 1st push once during the contraction. I stopped suddenly just because I realized that my husband wasn’t there yet. So I shouted the nurse “Suami saya.. suami saya..” She ran for my husband to come inside the labor as fast as possible. Seeing my husband entered the room, I quickly give my best 2nd push and POOOPPP, sound of Aafreen got out already. Sharp at 3.11pm I gave birth to Aafreen. My husband had the moment to see how Aafreen got out. Allahuakbar…Merciful Allah… It was short & sweet memories as far as I remembered. Alhamdulillah… I didn’t spend so many hours fighting against contractions inside the labor room. Her weight was 2.41kg during birth. Slimshaddy :-)

Btw, Aafreen means brave/acclaim/trustworthy. Such a wonderful meaning and that’s why I’ve chosen it for her.

One Secret Night in Ramadhan

Salam Ramadhan Al-Mubarak to Muslims. I would like to share one of the best stories regarding One Secret Night in Ramadhan which is Lailatul Qadar. Sit tight and read what had happen to our beloved Prophet S.A.W.

Diriwayatkan bahawa Rasulullah SAW sedang duduk i’tikaf semalam suntuk pada hari-hari terakhir Bulan Suci Ramadhan.
Wallahualam.

Dreams

I dream
I test my dreams against my beliefs,
I dare to take risks,
And I execute my vision to make those dreams come true.
